Eagle Property Capital Welcomes Senior Real Estate Executive Barry Chase to Leadership Team

Chase will help lead EPC’s long-term multifamily business strategy and expand its relationships with institutional investors

MIAMI (January 22, 2025) Eagle Property Capital (EPC), a vertically integrated real estate investment manager specializing in workforce multifamily housing, announces that Barry Chase, a real estate leader with over 40 years of experience, has joined the company as a partner and Managing Principal. In this new role with EPC, Mr. Chase will be responsible for co-leading EPC’s strategy and execution, developing institutional relationships, participating in investment committee decisions, mentoring senior management, enhancing investment policies and procedures, and contributing to new product offerings.

Founded in 2011 by Managing Principals Rodrigo Conesa and Gerardo Mahuad, EPC has acquired, repositioned, and managed over 10,400 apartment units across 42 properties in the Southeastern United States, and has more than $1.1 billion in assets under management.

Mr. Chase’s appointment comes as EPC prepares to launch its sixth multifamily investment fund this year.

“Barry brings an unparalleled depth of knowledge and a proven track record in managing discretionary institutional capital to Eagle Property Capital,” said Rodrigo Conesa. “We believe his highly disciplined approach to investing and fiduciary mindset will amplify our position as a trusted partner to institutional investors seeking a seasoned multifamily operator and investment manager.”

“As we prepare to launch our sixth multifamily investment fund, Barry’s expertise strengthens EPC’s senior leadership team in a complex investing environment filled with opportunities and challenges,” added Gerardo Mahuad. “The multifamily market has very attractive long-term fundamentals, and we’re optimistic about the investment opportunities in 2025 and beyond.”

Prior to joining EPC, Mr. Chase was one of the founders and former Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman of Belay Investment Group, an institutional investment management firm specializing in small- to middle-market real estate opportunities through strategic partnerships with a network of local, specialized real estate operators.

One of those operators was Eagle Property Capital. Mr. Chase had the opportunity to work closely with EPC over the past eight years, allowing him to witness firsthand the firm’s evolution and commitment to being best-in-class real estate operators and institutional investment managers.

“Institutional investors looking to expand their commitments to workforce housing in diverse neighborhoods will find Eagle Property Capital’s focus on the U.S. Hispanic marketplace, combined with its vertically integrated operating platform and institutional best practices, a compelling differentiator,” Barry Chase said. “I’m excited to be working with EPC and using my decades of experience to help the company expand its institutional partnerships and unlock new opportunities for sustainable, long-term growth.”

Mr. Chase has invested capital on behalf of some of the country’s largest pension funds and institutional investors. He has also held senior executive positions at Koll Development, Cushman Realty Corporation and CT Realty. Over the course of his career, he has directed more than $3.5 billion in commercial real estate transactions through multiple market cycles.

Based in Miami, EPC focuses on high-growth cities in Florida and Texas. In 2023, EPC successfully closed “EPC Promecap Multifamily Partners V, LLC” (Fund V), with over $360 million in equity commitments from family offices, UHNW, and institutional investors, which it invested in income-producing, value-add properties in high-growth Sunbelt markets. EPC has historically provided attractive, risk-adjusted returns to investors across seven realized investment vehicles since 2011. Vidalta Residential, EPC’s residential property management arm, is an experienced multifamily operator and a recognized Top Employer by the National Apartment Association.
